EXTRA is a program that offers organized soccer for players who want to play at a more competitive level. Club soccer teams are in place in many parts of the country, but for those who want to play harder and still be a part of AYSO, EXTRA is perfect.

All tryouts are 2 days. Although not mandatory, it is highly recommended to attend BOTH days of tryouts. Players who are offered a spot on a team will receive an offer letter via email after tryouts are complete and will have until the end of weekend after the conclusion of tryouts to accept the position on the team.
Players who are not offered a spot on a team will receive a decline letter shortly later after we’ve confirmed the team rosters.
Games are typically held on weekdays (once a week) and practices once or twice a week depending on coaches. Coaches will determine when they want to hold team practices and whether their team will participate in any summer tournaments or indoor soccer in the winter. Most coaches will attend one tournament in the summer and one session of indoor in the winter. Cost for tournaments and indoor soccer are not included in the registration price.
Regions participating in the AYSO EXTRA program include Layton, Syracuse, Ogden, South Ogden, Ogden Valley, and Roy. This is the furthest that these teams will travel to with half of the games in the season being home games.
EXTRA gives athletes, whose interests and abilities, lead them to a more progressive soccer experience. You can feel secure knowing your child is part of a trusted organization and will be given fair playing time. EXTRA doesn’t take away from the regular program but adds to the strength of the organization by keeping players and their families in AYSO.
EXTRA can only be offered in areas with a regular AYSO program and is coordinated with the support of local leadership. No paid coaches are allowed. All AYSO standards for training and certification for coaches and referees are in place.

Can my AYSO EXTRA child also participate in AYSO Core?
EXTRA players that also participate in the primary program at the same time can participate fully with both teams as well as All Star, tournaments, National Open Cup, National Games, and travel teams. Players playing only on an EXTRA team are eligible for tournament, travel or other secondary program teams.
